If you are a student and use private hire vehicles or hackney carriages around the city, here are some things to keep in mind:

• Using a reputable firm gives you added peace of mind. Make sure the vehicle which arrives bears the company’s logo.
• Don’t trust unlicensed vehicles. Licenses will be displayed on the vehicle with the driver-partners registration and Council license number on it – be sure to make a note of this, as you will need it in the event of a problem.
• A driver partner operating at a rank is working independently, even if the car bears a company logo. Keep this in mind as we wouldn’t be able to identify the driver partner if a problem occurs.
